Improvisation & Saxophone Instruction

Private lessons available in Anchorage, Alaska or via mail correspondence. $65 per hour lesson or $35 for half hour. Half hour lessons are only available to beginning students that are younger in age. Correspondence durations may vary and cost $65 each.

My students range from professionals to absolute beginners. Some have gone on to win scholarships at the Berklee School of Music, Eastman School of Music, Lamont School of Music, University of Northern Colorado, University of Colorado (Boulder), and the Louisville School of Music. A few of my high school students have won All State Jazz Band positions and regularly received “outstanding soloist” awards at jazz festivals. One student received an alternate position in the Jazz Band of America.

Materials you will need to bring to each lesson are a blank spiral-bound manuscript book, a flash drive, a metronome, and of course your instrument.

Lesson materials have been developed from over 20 years of “field testing” various methods and concepts. If you enjoy a challenge and sure improvement, this approach is for you.
